Monica Zoppè is a cell biologist at the Institute of Biophysics of the Italian National Research Council in Milan. In an article in The Scientist, she offers a positive reaction to the announcement made by the journal Nature that it will in future publish all its peer reviews alongside the articles under review. Some researchers fear that this will result in a greater number of uncritical peer reviews, but Zoppè thinks it’s actually a positive step: “If people knew that their review would be published, they would be more careful in the review process, especially if it’s not anonymous”.
